‘Etgar Keret: Based on a True Story’

This is the trailer (1:19) for the hybrid documentary about the life and work of renowned Israeli author Etgar Keret. Producers Stephane Kaas and Rutger Lemm blend documentary filmmaking, fiction, and animation in a feature film that is just as quirky and multi-faceted as Keret himself. Keret is internationally recognized for his out-of-the-box short stories and graphic novels, as well as for his work in screenplay writing and film directing. He has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Prime Minister’s Award for Literature, the Ministry of Culture’s Cinema Prize, the Camera d’Or Prize, the JQ Wingate Prize, the Chevalier Medallion of France’s Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and the Charles Bronfman Prize.
