Bar/Bat Mitzvah Trope, Blessings & Readings in Multiple Traditions

Bar/Bat Mitzvah Trope, Blessings & Readings in Multiple Traditions

This website is an excellent resource for Bar/Bat Mitzvah students looking to learn the traditional Orthodox tunes (trope), blessings and readings for the Torah and Haftarah readings during synagogue services. With the ability to select the Ashkenazi, Sephardi or Moroccan tradition for your particular Torah, Haftarah, or Maftir reading, this resource is user friendly and customizable. It offers an audio recording of your selection, together with the scrolling Hebrew text of the blessing for you to follow along and pause, repeat or print as needed. The website also offers other helpful Bar/Bat Mitzvah planning resources, such as a date calculator, the laws for tefillin and tallit, a short “dvar Torah” for each of the weekly Torah portions, and more Hebrew resources. Although helpful to all, Bar-Mitzvah.org is clearly geared toward Orthodox Hebrew speakers based in Israel celebrating a traditional Bar Mitzvah.
